Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are looking for an experienced PCB Layout Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team developing advanced electronic products and systems.
This position offers the opportunity to work across the full product development lifecycle, supporting the creation of complex hardware solutions from initial concept through to manufacture and production release. Working closely with electronics, mechanical, software and manufacturing teams, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality PCB designs that meet performance, reliability and manufacturability requirements.
This role would suit someone who enjoys combining strong PCB layout expertise with a practical understanding of electronic design principles and engineering best practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce PCB layouts for a range of electronic products and assemblies.
* Translate schematic designs into manufacturable PCB designs while meeting electrical, mechanical and thermal requirements.
* Develop layouts with consideration for signal integrity, power distribution, grounding, thermal performance and EMC requirements.
* Support designs incorporating digital, analogue, mixed-signal and power electronics technologies.
* Generate fabrication, assembly and manufacturing documentation.
* Participate in design reviews and support engineering verification activities.
* Create and maintain PCB libraries, symbols and component footprints.
* Work with manufacturing and supply chain partners to support production activities and resolve technical issues.
* Assist with prototype builds, testing and investigation of design-related issues.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of PCB design processes, standards and best practices.
About You
You will be a detail-oriented engineer with strong PCB design experience and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven PCB layout experience using Altium Designer.
* Experience delivering PCB designs through to manufacturing release.
* Understanding of PCB stack-up design, controlled impedance, signal integrity, thermal management and EMC considerations.
* Experience working on digital, analogue, mixed-signal and power electronic designs.
* Ability to interpret electronic schematics and engineering requirements.
* Experience creating and maintaining component libraries and footprints.
* Knowledge of PCB fabrication, assembly processes and design for manufacture principles.
* Strong attention to detail and configuration control practices.
* Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Desirable Experience
* Experience supporting RF or high-frequency electronic products.
* High-speed digital design exposure, including interfaces such as DDR, Ethernet, PCIe or similar technologies.
* Familiarity with IPC standards and PCB design guidelines.
* Experience working within controlled engineering or product development environments.
* Exposure to product lifecycle management systems and engineering change processes
