Senior Mechanical Engineer - Robotics

If so, our client,, is actively hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team in Cambridge, developing cutting-edge autonomous fruit harvesting robots that are transforming the future of agriculture.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer, based in Cambridge, will be responsible for:

* Designing and developing next-generation autonomous robotic harvesting platforms

* Creating production-standard 3D CAD models and drawings using Solid Works

* Designing robotic mechanisms, actuators, end-effectors, and integrated mechatronic systems

* Managing cross-functional communication between mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, vision and machine learning teams

* Producing and maintaining design packs and manufacturing packs

* Conducting tolerance analysis, GD T and FEA to verify and validate designs

To apply for this Senior Mechanical Engineer role, you should have:

* Degree, HNC or HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

* Experience designing robotics, automation equipment, moving machinery or mechatronic products

* Strong Solid Works experience, including production-standard drawings and assemblies

* Experience with tolerance stack-up analysis, GD T and design for manufacture principles

* Knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection moulding, casting, CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication

* Experience using FEA tools to verify and optimise designs
