About

The Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically minded Repair Option Specialist to join our Service Operations team at our Duxford Head Office. This is a specialist role focused on developing repair strategies, service job lists, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) that support the effective maintenance, repair, and lifecycle management of construction equipment. You'll work closely with service, engineering, parts, and product support teams to ensure repair options are accurate, commercially viable, and aligned with manufacturer standards.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the foundation data used for contract pricing, repair-before-failure programmes, workshop rebuilds, and long‑term service planning across our equipment portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain servicing job lists for contracted equipment and new product lines.
  • Create workshop rebuild and repair job lists, scopes of work, and supporting documentation.
  • Build and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), including parts, labour, and miscellaneous requirements.
  • Validate part numbers, supersessions, compatibility, and machine‑specific requirements using engineering data and OEM systems.
  • Develop repair options for construction equipment including excavators, loaders, pavers, rollers, articulated dump trucks, and rigid frame trucks.
  • Create and validate lifecycle repair data to support contract pricing, repair‑before‑failure initiatives, and cost modeling.
  • Work closely with engineering, product support, service, supply chain, and contract management teams to ensure accuracy and effectiveness of repair strategies.
  • Identify and resolve issues relating to obsolete parts, serial number breaks, machine options, and documentation gaps.
  • Maintain revision control and communicate updates across the business.
  • Ensure all repair documentation complies with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal processes.
About You

You will be a technically capable individual with a strong understanding of heavy equipment systems and a passion for accuracy, process improvement, and technical documentation. To be successful in this position, you'll likely have experience working within construction equipment, plant machinery, commercial vehicles, agricultural equipment, mining, or a similar heavy engineering environment. You will enjoy working with technical data, collaborating with multiple stakeholders, and developing robust repair solutions that improve machine uptime and service efficiency.

Essential

Requirements
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics, powertrain, electrical, and structural systems on heavy equipment.
  • Experience creating or maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience working with parts catalogues, service systems, or product lifecycle management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain accurate documentation and version control.
  • Excellent IT skills and confidence using business systems and databases.
  • Experience with in construction equipment, heavy plant, commercial vehicles, agriculture, mining, or a similar engineering environment.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience with in OEM dealer networks.
  • Knowledge of repair time estimation and cost modeling.
  • Heavy equipment maintenance, engineering, or mechanical qualification.
  • Experience interpreting heavy equipment parts information and service documentation.
  • Experience using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and parts management platforms.
