Senior Mechanical Engineer - Robotics

If so, our client is actively hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team in Cambridge, developing cutting-edge autonomous fruit harvesting robots that are transforming the future of agriculture.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer, based in Cambridge, will be responsible for:

Designing and developing next-generation autonomous robotic harvesting platforms

Creating production-standard 3D CAD models and drawings using Solid Works

Designing robotic mechanisms, actuators, end-effectors, and integrated mechatronic systems

Managing cross-functional communication between mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, vision and machine learning teams

Producing and maintaining design packs and manufacturing packs

Conducting tolerance analysis, GD&T and FEA to verify and validate designs

To apply for this Senior Mechanical Engineer role, you should have:

Degree, HNC or HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

Experience designing robotics, automation equipment, moving machinery or mechatronic products

Strong Solid Works experience, including production-standard drawings and assemblies

Experience with tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T and design for manufacture principles

Knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection moulding, casting, CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication

Experience using FEA tools to verify and optimise designs
