Senior Mechanical Engineer - Robotics

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a background in robotics, automation, or mechatronic product development to join our growing team in Cambridge. You will develop cutting‑edge autonomous fruit harvesting robots that are transforming agriculture.

• Design and develop next‑generation autonomous robotic harvesting platforms.
• Create production‑standard 3D CAD models and drawings using Solid Works.
• Design robotic mechanisms, actuators, end‑effectors, and integrated mechatronic systems.
• Manage cross‑functional communication between mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, vision, and machine learning teams.
• Produce and maintain design packs and manufacturing packs.
• Conduct tolerance analysis, GD&T and FEA to verify and validate designs.

• Degree, HNC or HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience designing robotics, automation equipment, moving machinery or mechatronic products.
• Strong Solid Works experience, including production‑standard drawings and assemblies.
• Experience with tolerance stack‑up analysis, GD&T and design for manufacture principles.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection moulding, casting, CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication.
• Experience using FEA tools to verify and optimise designs.
