AboutThe Role
As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will join a growing Civil Engineering team in Cambridge that is supporting the delivery of major water infrastructure programmes. The local team includes engineers ranging from graduates to senior technical specialists and forms part of Stantec's wider South Central Civil Engineering business, which includes specialists across water infrastructure, wastewater infrastructure, urban drainage, geotechnics, structures, pipe technology, dams and reservoirs, water treatment and wastewater treatment.
Through Stantec's appointment to major AMP8 frameworks, including Anglian Water's Strategic Partnership Programme, our Cambridge office is entering an exciting period of expansion. The role will primarily support the delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK water sector, with a particular focus on AMP8 investment programmes. You may contribute to projects across water transmission pipelines, trunk mains, clean water networks, wastewater infrastructure, pumping stations, service reservoirs and treatment-related infrastructure, from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design and construction support.
Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will help deliver sustainable solutions that directly benefit communities and the environment. Your core responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from concept development through to detailed design.
Preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings and design deliverables in accordance with industry standards and client requirements.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, electrical, structural, geotechnical and digital specialists.
Participating in design reviews, project meetings and site visits to develop technical understanding and practical engineering knowledge.
Supporting project delivery activities including quality assurance, risk management, health and safety compliance and programme coordination.
Contributing to projects that enhance water resilience, environmental performance and sustainable infrastructure for communities across the UK.
