Senior 3D​/Character Artist

Even in these uncertain times, the awesome talent at Just Wont Die Games Studio is expanding! We’re looking for a highly-skilled, driven and deeply creative 3D artist to work on an exciting new and original sci fi and fantasy IP for console and PC. As a 3D Artist you will be instrumental in bringing our world to life, creating characters, creatures, weapons and more.

Working both independently and in cooperation with the Art Director and other experienced artists, you will be instrumental in shaping the final vision for our game.

We need someone who’s self-motivated, incredibly creative and has fantastic vision. If you understand the importance and impact of delivering high quality 3D art assets that convey tone and emotion that can inspire the whole team, then we’d very much like to hear from you.

The ideal candidate would have good industry knowledge, game development experience and a passion for games. Whilst the position is based at our studio in Cambridge, UK, for the moment (at least) the whole team is fully embracing working remotely.

• Produce AAA standard 3D assets in line with the project's semi realistic art style.
• Work on a wide variety of assets, including humans, clothing, creatures and weapons
• Work closely with the Art Director, other experienced artists and development teams
• Interpreting 2D concept art into 3D game assets

• An exceptional portfolio that includes both organic and hard surface assets
• Professional games experience as a 3D Character Artist with an excellent track record of delivering high quality assets.
• Familiarity with the entire game asset creation pipeline: high-poly sculpting, retopology, UV mapping, texture baking, texture painting, setting up and exporting to game.
• Excellent knowledge of ZBrush, Maya and Substance Painter.
• Experience with Unreal engine.
• Great understanding of anatomy.
• Understanding of game asset topology that takes into consideration specified budgets and animation requirements
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Able to collaborate and work well in a team
• Willing to give and receive constructive feedback

• Experience working on an FPS.
• Experience using Xgen
• Experience working with character customization
• Experience with Unreal Engine.
• A keen gamer with industry knowledge.
• Game development experience.
