Accounts Assistant

This Finance Assistant will support the day-to-day operations of the finance team, ensuring accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable, maintaining financial records, and supporting Month End close activities.

Based in Waterbeach our client is part of an international organisation. They operate a hybrid working model.

As Accounts Assistant your responsibilities will include:

• Support the processing of purchase ledger invoices.
  
  * Maintain accurate AP and AR ledgers, including outstanding balances and supporting credit control
  
  * Prepare and process supplier payment runs in line with agreed schedules.
  
  * Post credit card transactions and staff expense claims.
• Perform bank postings and bank reconciliations.
  
  * Carry out general ledger reconciliations and post journals under supervision.
  
  * Support Month End and Year End close activities, including recurring journals.
  
  * Work to deadlines in accordance with the Month End close timetable.
• Maintain financial records, spreadsheets, trackers, and internal databases according to SOX.
  
  * Assist in the preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules.

The successful candidate will have prior experience of accounts payable / accounts receivable and an understanding of basic accounting principles. You will be a confident communicator and ideally be studying towards your AAT.
