An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a well-established and growing educational business based in Cambridge. This is a key leadership role offering the chance to contribute to the strategic and operational success of a respected organisation dedicated to delivering high-quality educational services. Reporting directly to the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will take ownership of the finance function, ensuring robust financial management, compliance, and reporting while supporting business growth and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and performance analysis.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors and advisors.
  • Monitor financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Provide strategic financial insight and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage payroll processes and oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Support commercial decision-making through detailed financial analysis and business partnering.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop members of the finance team.
Candidate Requirements
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Senior Finance role.
  • Strong management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience with in the education sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
