Head of Finance

Reporting to the senior leadership team, the Head of Finance will be responsible for leading all aspects of the organisation's financial management, planning and reporting. This is a broad and influential role that combines strategic financial leadership with oversight of day-to-day financial operations and governance.

The organisation operates in the Not For Profit sector in Cambridge.

• Lead the organisation's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Produce timely and insightful management accounts, financial reports and analysis to support decision-making.
• Partner with senior leaders on business planning, new projects, investment decisions and organisational development opportunities.
• Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic planning.
• Oversee the integrity of financial records, systems and controls, including the management of external finance service providers where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, statutory requirements and regulatory obligations.
• Lead the annual audit process and preparation of statutory accounts.
• Monitor organisational risk from a financial perspective and support effective governance arrangements.
• Prepare reports and papers for trustees, finance committees and senior stakeholders.
• Support fundraising, grant-funded activities and project reporting by providing financial oversight and analysis.
• Manage relationships with auditors, professional advisers, banks and other external stakeholders.
• Review and improve financial systems, processes and policies to support organisational effectiveness and growth.
• Provide leadership and expertise on payroll, pensions and wider financial administration arrangements.

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Significant experience in financial management, reporting and planning.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and managing external audits.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and compliance requirements.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working collaboratively with senior leadership teams and boards or trustees.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage a varied workload and work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.

• Permanent Head of Finance position based in Cambridge.
• Salary of £50,000 to £60,000, dependent on the level of experience.
• Could be suitable for fractional/ portfolio/ Part Time
