Graduate Town Planner
Location:
Cambridge
Salary: £27-30,000
Are you a recent Planning graduate ready to take the next step in your career with an established and experienced planning team?
I'm currently recruiting for a Graduate Town Planner opportunity in Cambridge, offering an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a varied portfolio of planning projects. You'll work closely with experienced planners, develop your technical knowledge and professional skills, and benefit from a structured graduate training programme designed to support your long-term career development.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation of planning statements and planning appraisals
Support the delivery of a range of planning projects, including larger and more complex schemes
Prepare and submit planning applications and appeals
Assist clients throughout the planning and development process
Assess and appraise new development opportunities
Undertake planning policy research and analysis
Assist with the preparation of Design and Access Statements where appropriate
Manage a variety of planning applications and monitor progress and outcomes
Support community engagement and consultation activities
Attend planning committee meetings and public examinations
Participate in site visits and client meetings
Assist with preparing fee proposals and project scopes
About You
A degree in Town Planning or a related subject, ideally RTPI-accredited
A clear interest in town planning and a genuine desire to develop a career in the sector
Previous planning experience would be advantageous but is not essential
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working collaboratively within a team
A proactive, motivated and ambitious approach to professional development
Transferable skills and relevant experience are encouraged, and we welcome applications from candidates who may not meet every requirement Benefits
