Registered Manager - EBD Children's Home

We are seeking a Registered Manager to oversee the leadership, management, and day-to-day operations of an Ofsted-regulated children's home for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This role is crucial in maintaining high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance with Ofsted regulations, while fostering a nurturing environment that promotes positive outcomes for children and young people.
Day-to-day of the role:- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards. Maintain accurate records and prepare for Ofsted inspections.
- Leadership & Management: Provide strong leadership to staff, promoting a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement. Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise staff to ensure high-quality care delivery. Manage budgets, resources, and staffing levels effectively.
- Safeguarding & Care Standards: Ensure safeguarding policies are implemented and adhered to at all times. Promote the physical, emotional, and educational well-being of children and young people. Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits, monitoring, and evaluation of the home's performance. Implement action plans to address any areas of improvement identified by Ofsted or internal reviews.
- Partnership Working: Build strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, schools, health professionals, and families. Represent the home in multi‑agency meetings and contribute to care planning.
Qualifications:
- Essential: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory role within a children's residential setting. In-depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and children's home legislation. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a therapeutic and child‑centred manner.
- Desirable: Previous experience as a Registered Manager in an EBD home. Knowledge of trauma‑informed practice and therapeutic care models. Full UK driving licence.
