Location: Home based but covering the South of the UK
Contract: Full‑time, permanent
Field Service Engineer – Road Machinery. The role is part of a team covering East Anglia – South East, South West, and South Coast. Responsibilities include delivering first‑class service to both internal and external customers, actively seeking revenue opportunities, and collaborating with Customer Support Representatives and the Line Manager.
What You’ll Be Doing- Service and repair Dynapac road construction equipment.
- Identify mechanical problems using technical knowledge and diagnostic equipment, offering guidance and advice to the customer.
- Carry out duties in a commercially focused way, seeking additional service revenue opportunities and promoting aftermarket solutions.
- Work in line with quotations and time guides, highlighting to management where additional work may be required.
- Ensure software updates are installed as new versions are released.
- Complete electronic reports and timesheets in real time, providing comprehensive details of work undertaken.
- Order and manage parts, returning them in clean condition upon job completion.
- Work overtime and honor reasonable call‑out requests as required.
- Attend relevant product and systems training courses.
- Formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural / HGV mechanics or related discipline (e.g., NVQ 3/C&G).
- Experience repairing and maintaining heavy construction plant, with proven technical competence on diesel engines, transmissions, drive lines, hydraulics, and electrics.
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with comprehensive understanding of hydraulics, electrics, and EATS.
- Effective communication with colleagues, management, and customers.
- Cost‑conscious mindset to maximise profitability.
- Strong problem‑solving and diagnostic skills.
- Computer skills including Outlook.
- High attention to detail and conscientiousness.
- Reliable, honest, and trustworthy.
- Ability to understand technical literature and systems.
- Experience in welding and fabrication.
- Prior experience with road equipment.
- Previous experience with an OEM dealer.
