We’s looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a leading UK Facilities Management provider, supporting a prestigious Pharmaceutical contract in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a highly regulated, critical environment where reliability, compliance, and operational excellence are essential to site performance.
What you’ll be doing :- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building services systems
- Maintaining and repairing HVAC systems, pumps, pipework, pressurised systems, and associated mechanical plant
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective root cause analysis to minimise downtime
- Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of critical mechanical infrastructure
- Completing maintenance records, compliance documentation, and reports accurately
- Working in line with GMP standards, health & safety regulations, and site procedures
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and energy efficiency
- Working closely with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and the wider engineering team to maintain service excellence
- Supporting contractual KPIs and service delivery standards
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, professionalism, and customer service at all times
- Mechanical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, or equivalent)
- Experience with in Facilities Management, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, or other regulated environments
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, pipework, pressurised systems, and mechanical building services
- Proven experience delivering both planned and reactive maintenance
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
- Strong understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance requirements
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, critical environment
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive and customer-focused approach to service delivery
- Experience working within GMP-controlled environments
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical compliance requirements
- Experience using CAFM systems
- IOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification
- Experience supporting energy efficiency and continuous improvement projects
- Experience working on critical infrastructure and business-critical systems
- £50,000 salary
