Associate Director / Senior Associate Director - Rural Land Management

Location:

Cambridge | Permanent

We are recruiting for an exceptional opportunity to join a highly respected Rural team in Cambridge as an Associate Director or Senior Associate Director. This position offers the chance to become a key figure within a well‑established department recognised as a leader in Farm and Estate Management across the region.

The team manages a diverse range of rural estates and provides high‑quality professional advice throughout Southern England. Their technical expertise and long‑standing reputation have secured an impressive portfolio of clients, including some of the most prestigious estates in the area. This role offers a varied blend of farm and estate management alongside wider professional advisory work, within a team that is ambitious and focused on continued growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver strategic property advice to estate and farm‑owning clients.
  • Lead or support valuations, tax planning, and occasional acquisition or disposal of land and property.
  • Act as the primary day‑to‑day contact for Estate Management clients.
  • Manage landlord and tenant relationships across agricultural, commercial and residential property portfolios.
  • Oversee financial management, including budgeting, performance reporting and cost control.
  • Manage estate employees and ensure effective operational structures.
  • Provide clear, practical and well‑reasoned advice to clients at all times.
  • Work closely with the Department Head to drive growth, secure new business and support the ongoing development of the team.
Qualifications & Key Skills
  • MRICS qualified; RICS Registered Valuer (desirable); ideally FAAV.
  • Strong experience within the rural sector, whether from private practice or a resident agent background.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence.
Experience & Competencies
  • Commercially minded with a hands‑on approach.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, managing or mentoring team members.
  • Confident in taking financial responsibility on behalf of clients.
  • Strong networking and business development skills, with the ability to identify and win opportunities.
  • Excellent presentation and communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted long‑term relationships.
  • Robust research and analytical skills.
  • High level of IT proficiency, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Solid understanding of agricultural, accounting and tax matters relevant to rural estates.
