The Health and Safety Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the organization’s Health & Safety (H&S) strategy across all operations.
This role ensures that all employees, contractors, and stakeholders operate in compliance with relevant legislation, company standards, and industry best practices.
The Director will provide strategic direction, technical expertise, and leadership to foster a proactive safety culture within a high-risk infrastructure environment such as telecommunications, power, utilities, or water.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive H&S strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
* Provide expert advice to senior management on risk management, compliance, and industry standards.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety culture and operational performance.
* Oversee audits, inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
* Partner with project, engineering, and field teams to embed safety into all aspects of planning and delivery.
* Monitor performance metrics and lead regular H&S reporting to the Board and regulatory bodies.
* Manage and mentor a team of H&S professionals across regional or project sites.
* Build strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, clients, and regulators to promote a positive safety reputation.
* Represent the company at industry forums, regulatory meetings, and client engagements.
* Lead major incident investigations and root cause analyses.
* Identify emerging risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
* Ensure effective emergency preparedness and crisis response processes.
