Building Manager (Part-Time)
Location:
Central London
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 12:00pm (20 hours per week) Salary: £18,000 - £22,000 per annum About the Role We are seeking a professional, proactive, and customer-focused Building Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of a small residential development. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for part-time hours while still maintaining a varied and rewarding role. The position would particularly suit an individual with other responsibilities or commitments who is seeking a better work-life balance without compromising on responsibility and autonomy.
The successful candidate will act as the face of the development, ensuring the building is safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently while delivering excellent service to residents, visitors, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities Resident & Front of House Duties Act as the first point of contact for residents, visitors, and contractors. Build positive relationships with residents and respond to enquiries in a professional and timely manner. Manage parcel deliveries and resident communications. Handle complaints, queries, and service requests efficiently. Maintain accurate records and site documentation. Building Management Conduct daily building inspections and communal area checks.
Monitor the condition, cleanliness, and presentation of the development. Identify maintenance issues and report or escalate where necessary. Liaise with managing agents, contractors, and service providers. Oversee contractor attendance and ensure works are completed to the required standard. Health & Safety Carry out routine health and safety inspections. Ensure compliance with site policies and procedures. Monitor fire safety equipment and report any concerns.
Maintain health and safety records and incident logs. Ensure communal areas remain safe, clean, and hazard-free. Security & Compliance Monitor access to the building and challenge unauthorised visitors where appropriate. Report security concerns and incidents. Assist with key management and access control procedures. Ensure site policies and building regulations are adhered to. Candidate Requirements Previous experience within residential property, facilities management, concierge, building management, or customer service environments.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively. Good understanding of health and safety practices. Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and email systems. Professional, approachable, and service-oriented manner.
