Employment: Full time (35 hours per week) , permanent Shift pattern: Monday to Friday with the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including weekends and evenings On call: upon completing your probationary period, you will be included on an out of hours on call rota covering all services across The Edmund Trust as Tier 2 support.
This rota is shared across all managers and is typically an average of 1 in every 8 weeks.

We are looking for a dedicated
Service Manager
to join our operational management team. We are looking for someone to provide strong leadership and hold CQC registered manager status for a residential home which supports up to 9 adults with learning disabilities and autism in Chesterton, Cambridge. Supported by the Head of Operations, you will coach and manage a team to provide valuable and person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities.
- Have management experience in a care/support setting, dealing with all areas of running multiple services
- Experienced at mentoring, coaching and supporting staff and leading a team positively
- Experienced at supporting people who have learning and physical disabilities, and autism
- Experienced at supporting people with challenging behaviour
- Be passionate and motivated about getting the support right for the people we support
- Able to establish and maintain relationships with the families of the people we support, knowing they play an important part in the person’s life and have insightful and valuable contributions
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, including CQC requirements
- Willing to be a Registered Manager if required
- Able to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings
- To be suitably qualified in the sector and be willing to complete the Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care whilst in post

- Confident in following support agreements, plans and policies at all times
- Able to work as a team but also confident at lone working
- Are a car driver, with a full manual driving licence, and can use your own car for business use
- Are an experienced and competent user of Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word etc.)
- To provide effective management of the services included Supported Living Schemes, Community Support Services and Registered Care establishments
- To ensure the delivery of person-centred support through coaching and managing a team of staff
- Ensuring there are safe staffing levels across the services at all times with responsibility for all budgets related to the service
- Liaise closely with other professionals, as well as having regular contact with family and friends of the people we support.
- To support the growth and development of services in line with the business plan, act to fill any voids quickly, leading on staff recruitment and retention activities
- To act as Registered Manager as required; covering for other services when necessary.
- To act as a role model and mentor for staff
- To support the Head of Operations and be responsible for identified delegated tasks
- Act as Second Tier for on-call on a rota basis; proactively makes decisions and recommend actions as appropriate.
