Overview
Together with our client we are looking for a Mechanical Technician, reporting to the Production Team Leader, the Mechanical Technician is responsible for applying mechanical skills in pipe preparation, assembly, and welding. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality, ensuring all work meets required standards and any issues are promptly reported.

Salary will be £26k per annum plus a 5.5% shift allowance so adds up to £27,430. One shift, Mon-Thurs 8am – 16:45, Fri – 8am – 12:30

Main Duties and Responsibilities

* Interpret and work from engineering drawings

* Cut and prepare pipework to a tolerance of 0.5mm across a range of tube sizes

* Perform orbital welding on 1/4” manifolds, producing an average of 12 welds per hour

* Carry out quality assurance and testing of manifolds, including pressure testing and helium leak testing

* Communicate with Team Leaders and Supervisors regarding work progress

* Maintain a clean and organised work area and adhere to all health and safety procedures

Person Specification

* Strong attention to detail with the ability to work to precise tolerances

* Good manual dexterity

* Competent in the use of hand tools and measuring equipment

* Ability to follow clear and detailed procedures and instructions

* Willingness to learn, develop skills, and adapt to new working practices

* Good communication and teamwork skills

* Reliable timekeeping

* Flexible approach, including willingness to work overtime when required
