CNC Machinist REQUIRED
Job Purpose:
To program, set, and operate CNC machines efficiently and effectively resulting in outstanding quality products being produced ensuring all production requirements are completed in a timely fashion as set by the management Team to maximum efficiency and operational excellence in the delivery of all customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
- To work to the specifications outlined in production paperwork and processes.
- To programme, set and run CNC machines.
- Previous 5 and 3 axis CNC machine operating with wood (minimum 2-3 years)
- Programming/operating knowledge of Xilog Plus and X-Door will be a big advantage.
- To ensure all production paperwork is completed in full, in a timely fashion and accurately.
- To check all product components are correct before and during the operation.
- To carry out QC checks and ensure the products are correct throughout the run.
- To take ownership of preparing (cutting, sanding, priming etc.) of replacement materials (frame components, whole frames, doors etc) as and when it’s needed.
- Making sure the saw dust extraction system is maintained and dust bags changed as and when needed.
- To clearly mark pass able materials or machining errors to make the Teams responsible for further processes aware.
- To prepare and sort materials before machining.
- To report any delays to your team leader as soon as they occur
- To maximise machine uptime throughout your shift.
- To minimise set-up times.
- Keep your working area clean, tidy and safe.
- Always adhere to company processes and procedures.
- Be aware of and always follow all H&S procedures, and alert a team leader if an issue is spotted.
Skills and Experience
Required:
- Skilled in the programming and operation of the following:
Morbidelli and Alfa CNC machines
- Identify areas of weakness and make recommendations for improvements to training, production performance, KPI (Key Performance Indicator) improvement, reduction in costs and other efficiencies.
- Taking delivery of goods and supplies as and when necessary.
- Previous experience in manufacturing timber door set is preferable
- Forklift licence will be an advantage.
- Always follow the reporting structure
- Carry out all reasonable instructions as directed by your team leader.
