CNC Machinist
Cambridge
£38,000 - £40,000 per annum

Service Service is recruiting for a CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business based in Cambridge.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC professional to join a modern machine shop, programming, setting and operating a range of CNC turning and milling machines while supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Program, set and operate CNC turning and milling machines

* Produce high-precision components to engineering drawings and specifications

* Create, edit and optimise CNC programs to improve efficiency and quality

* Select tooling, fixtures and machining strategies for a variety of components

* Troubleshoot machining, tooling and programming issues

* Support continuous improvement initiatives within the machine shop

* Carry out machine maintenance and ensure equipment is operating effectively

* Maintain high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping

About You

* Proven CNC machining experience within a precision engineering environment

* Strong programming, setting and operating experience across turning and/or milling disciplines

* Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings

* Experience producing high-precision components to tight tolerances

* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

* Knowledge of Mazak, Citizen, Matsuura or similar CNC machinery would be advantageous

What's on Offer

 * £38,000 - £40,000 per annum

* Rotating shift pattern:

* Week 1:
Monday to Thursday, 6:00am - 2:00pm, Friday 6:00am - 1:00pm

* Week 2:
Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm, Friday 12:45pm - 6:45pm
