Job Description Dynamics 365 EngineerWe’re looking for a seasoned Dynamics 365 Engineer with significant commercial engineering experience and a proven track record of designing, engineering and delivering high-quality D365 and Power Platform solutions end to end across complex enterprise environments. You’ll have the experience to manage technical delivery across our delivery partners, whilst confidently communicating with stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
You really know this product & platform inside out, can confidently design and build solutions that are secure, scalable and maintainable, and thrive on being the go-to technical expert. You will be the in‑house engineering SME for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, trusted to guide technical design, decision making, influence platform evolution, confidently challenge where needed, and mentor others where appropriate.
At Genomics England, our internal systems power research and clinical programmes with real world and end user impact. Our Dynamics 365 platform supports key communications, workflows, data flows and operational processes across our Newborns and Research products in which this role sits at the centre, shaping architecture, building quality features and providing platform direction.
This is a hands‑on Dynamics 365 engineering role with real autonomy and ownership. You will be comfortably using your strong Dynamics 365 and Power Platform engineering expertise day to day, collaborating closely with product managers, business teams and external partners to design, build and deliver high-quality Dynamics 365 solutions that work in the real world and make a difference.
Please note, this is a senior Dynamics 365 engineering role, this is not a Business Analyst or a system administrator role.
What you’ll be doing :- Be the technical lead and the subject matter expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and the Power Platform
- Liaise with third‑party partners and vendors to assess solutions, review technical proposals, and ensure alignment with internal architecture
- Collaborate with internal product manager, architects and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications - communication and collaboration skills are key to the success of this role
- Provide regular and timely updates and reporting to stakeholders
- Prioritise tasks based on business priority, critical path and resource considerations, working with the product manager, application support manager & support teams.
- Design, develop, test and maintain custom components including plugins, workflows, Cloud Flows and Power Apps Component Framework (PCF) controls
