Section Leader

Location:
Cambridgeshire As a Section Leader in Production, your primary responsibility is to oversee and ensure the delivery of the production plan for your area. This role is crucial in maintaining the safety, food safety, and quality specifications of products. It involves physical, hands-on tasks, including lifting bags and ingredients up to 25kg. Day-to-day of the role:
Prepare all relevant machinery for the start of the shift, including conducting correct start-up checks to ensure a safe and compliant start-up. Operate machinery according to the production plan and customer specifications to consistently produce the correct product. Perform routine quality checks accurately and on time as per company requirements to maintain process control. Complete all relevant paperwork timely and accurately for full process control.
Follow strict hygiene and allergen control procedures during product changes to prevent cross-contamination. Supervise workers within the area, ensuring adherence to company policies and production standards. Manage the effective cleaning and maintenance of machinery and the production area at the end of each shift. Maintain factory standards such as GMP, foreign body, and waste control to prevent contamination risks. Perform additional duties as reasonably requested to support the wider site operation.
Required Skills &
Qualifications:
Experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry. Ability to physically handle materials up to 25kg. Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising a team. Knowledge of health and safety regulations. Proficient in maintaining documentation and conducting quality checks.
