CNC Programmer – Precision Machining & Manufacturing – Royston
A CNC Programmer job is available in Royston with an established engineering business specialising in high-precision vibration test systems and measurement equipment for the automotive, aerospace, electronics, rail and battery technology sectors.
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with strong skills in CNC machining, CAM software and precision manufacturing.
Based in Royston, you will create, prove and optimise CNC programmes for precision components, working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure parts meet specification and are manufactured efficiently.
Responsibilities of the CNC Programmer job in Royston- Creating and optimising CNC programmes from engineering drawings and 3D models.
- Setting up and proving programmes on 3-axis and 5-axis milling and turning machines.
- Selecting tooling and cutting strategies to improve machining quality and cycle times.
- Troubleshooting machining issues, supporting quality improvements and maintaining programme documentation.
- Proven experience in CNC programming within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with CAM software such as Fusion 360 or Siemens NX.
- Familiarity with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Heidenhain or Siemens, alongside strong engineering drawing and GD&T skills.
- Good knowledge of machining processes, tooling and materials, with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
