Position: Giving Manager Conservation Initiative (Fixed Term)

Are you an experienced fundraising professional looking for an opportunity to shape and grow a strategic giving programme with global impact? This is an exciting opportunity to join Cambridge Conservation Initiative (CCI), a unique collaboration of leading conservation organisations and University of Cambridge departments, and play a key role in supporting biodiversity conservation through philanthropy.

About

The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of the giving strategy for a special programme within CCI, helping to grow and diversify philanthropic income through public and non-major-gift fundraising activities. You will translate strategic priorities into annual fundraising plans, identify opportunities to enhance donor engagement, and ensure that fundraising activity contributes effectively to the organisation's objectives.

As the central point of expertise for giving, you will work closely with colleagues across CCI, Cambridge Judge Business School, the University's Development and Alumni Relations Office (CUDAR), and a range of external partners. You will oversee donor stewardship, impact reporting, fundraising operations, gift administration processes, and donor insight activities to ensure an excellent donor experience and sustainable income growth. The role also includes line management responsibility for the Gifts & Finance Coordinator and leadership of continuous improvements to fundraising systems, processes, and reporting frameworks.

This is a varied and highly collaborative role, combining strategic planning, relationship management, operational leadership, and donor engagement. It offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to an internationally recognised conservation partnership while working with colleagues from across academia, charities, and the wider conservation sector.

About You
  • Experience of developing and delivering fundraising programmes, including fundraising strategy, donor stewardship, reporting, gift operations and donor insight.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling reports and communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with experience of working effectively across organisational boundaries.
  • Experience of managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines, with excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • The ability to analyse information, identify opportunities for improvement, exercise sound judgement and contribute to strategic decision-making.
