The Department is seeking a Junior Clinical Training Scholar (JCTS) to support the Small Animal Surgery and Anaesthesia Services and undergraduate teaching.
The role involves assisting with the assessment, treatment and management of small animal surgical patients, including surgical preparation, anaesthesia, post‑operative care and patient discharge. You will support the Soft Tissue, Orthopaedic Surgery and Anaesthesia services, contribute to emergency and critical care cases, and assist in teaching final-year veterinary students.
You will participate in all aspects of the services, including a weekend/weeknight on‑call rota. The position offers valuable experience in surgery, anaesthesia, critical care and clinical teaching, and provides excellent preparation for specialist training or residency programmes.
Candidates must be members of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and have at least 12 months’ experience in companion animal practice. Applicants with previous experience in small animal surgery and/or anaesthesia, or who have completed a rotating Small Animal Internship, will be particularly encouraged to apply.
