Are you a hands-on quality professional who loves leading teams, solving problems, and setting high standards? Our client, a fast-growing food manufacturing business, is looking for a Quality Assurance Lead to join their site in Cambridgeshire.

The Role
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day quality agenda on site. This is a visible, hands-on role where you'll be on the factory floor, coaching your team, supporting audits, managing complaints, and ensuring every product leaving site meets exacting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive improvements in factory standards through strong cross-functional collaboration
  • Ensure production teams understand and meet quality expectations
  • Lead and support internal and external audits
  • Maintain product quality through:
    • Sensory evaluation
    • QC checks and accurate record-keeping
    • Microbiological and chemical testing (batch and non-batch)
  • Manage customer complaints from investigation through CAPA to closure
  • Support root cause analysis with other functions
  • Escalate food safety issues when required
  • Report KPIs to site and central teams
  • Lead, coach, and develop your QA team through regular 1-to-1s, performance management, and annual development plans

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a quality leadership role within food manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of food safety and quality systems (HACCP, GFSI, etc.)
  • Confident communicator, able to influence across departments
  • Organised, resilient, and comfortable making decisions

Why This Role?
This is an opportunity to take the lead on quality with full support, make a real impact on processes, and develop a team that takes pride in its standards.
