Polytec are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our Cambridge based client. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving product and process quality within a high-technology manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions using recognised quality tools
- Analyse quality data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Support new product introduction, validation and process improvement activities
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations to improve product quality and reliability
- Support the Quality Management System and ensure compliance with ISO 9001
- Support internal audits and manage actions arising from findings
- Investigate internal, supplier and customer quality issues
- Monitor quality KPIs and provide recommendations for improvement
- Promote quality best practice across the business

Requirements

- Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or related qualification, or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in a Quality Engineer role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Good knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems

- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, RCA/RCCA and FMEA
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office

Desirable

- Internal Auditor qualification

- Experience with ISO 27001, RoHS, REACH or SCIP

- Experience with in electronics, telecommunications, optical or other high-technology manufacturing
- Knowledge of Minitab or JMP
- Understanding of manufacturing process controls and validation
