Associate – Real Estate (NQ-2 PQE) Cambridge | Competitive Salary

For a newly qualified Solicitor or Associate looking to build a long-term career in commercial property, this opportunity offers exposure to high-quality work, a prestigious client base and the chance to develop alongside some of the region's leading real estate lawyers.

Joining a highly regarded Real Estate team, the successful candidate will work closely with partners and senior lawyers on a broad range of commercial property matters, with a particular focus on property investment, asset management, landlord and tenant work, and real estate transactions.

This is an opportunity to move beyond routine transactional work and become involved in complex, high-value matters for a diverse client base that includes institutional investors, global investment funds, developers, family offices, Oxbridge colleges and major corporate occupiers.

The Role

Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, the Associate will advise on:

  • Property investment acquisitions and disposals for buyers and sellers
  • Landlord and tenant matters, including the negotiation of new business leases
  • Property due diligence supporting real estate finance and corporate transactions
  • Asset management matters including:
  • Lease renewals
  • Surrenders
  • Easements
  • Licences
  • Ongoing portfolio management issues

The work spans a variety of sectors including office, retail, science and technology, mixed-use developments, hotels and leisure.

The Candidate

Applications are welcomed from Solicitors or equivalent lawyers with up to two years' PQE gained within a recognised commercial property or real estate team.

  • A strong grounding in real estate and commercial property law
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Strong organisational and matter management abilities
  • A proactive and commercial approach to problem‑solving
  • The ability to work effectively across multiple transactions and clients
  • An interest in legal technology, innovation and the use of AI to improve client service and efficiency

Experience in property management or development work would be advantageous but is not essential.

The Opportunity

This role offers far more than technical legal work. It provides the chance to build long‑standing relationships with sophisticated clients, gain exposure to significant real estate transactions and develop specialist expertise within a market‑leading team. For an ambitious real estate lawyer seeking high‑quality work, genuine career development and a supportive environment in Cambridge, this represents an excellent next step.
