Position

Project Officer – Legacy Post‑Excavation – Cambridge Office

Salary range

£35,250 – £40,804 per annum

Responsibilities
  • Post‑excavation analysis leading to publication.
  • Writing publications, including journal articles and monographs.
  • Assisting in the management of the programme for specific projects, including liaison with stakeholders and monitoring progress and budget.
Essential

Position Requirements
  • Experience of post‑excavation work and writing of archaeological reports, including legacy projects.
  • Good understanding of archaeological stratigraphy and interpretation of excavated sites.
  • Thorough knowledge of British archaeology.
  • Excellent written English.
  • Experience with software packages including Microsoft Office, Open/Libre Office, Access databases, AutoCAD and GIS.
  • Ability to undertake academic research on relevant subjects.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in archaeology, archaeological science or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and related policies.
Desirable
  • Expertise in one or more archaeological periods and/or site types, or the ability to undertake historical research including analysing historical documents and maps.
  • Experience of copy‑editing or proof‑reading publications.
  • Driver's licence.
