Applications are open for the AIxBio Research Fellowship 2027 in Cambridge, United Kingdom
. Organized by ERA in partnership with the Cambridge Biosecurity Hub, this 10-week,
fully funded fellowship supports researchers, professionals, and entrepreneurs working at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and biosecurity. Selected fellows will receive a £10,000 stipend
, travel and visa support, expert mentorship, and dedicated research management. Applicants from around the world are welcome, and previous formal research experience is not required. The fellowship will run from 18 January to 26 March 2027 and plans to select approximately 15 fellows. More details are below.

The AIxBio Research Fellowship provides the following support:
- £10,000 total stipend for the 10-week program.
- Travel expenses to and from Cambridge.
- Visa sponsorship and application support for international participants.
- Meals during working hours.
- Support with relocation and accommodation arrangements.
- The fellowship is open to all nationalities.
- Be at least 18 years old by the program’s start date.
- Be interested in addressing biological risks associated with AI and biotechnology.
- Be willing to participate in the 10-week, full-time, in-person program in Cambridge.
- Demonstrate strong reasoning, critical thinking, and the ability to contribute to meaningful projects.
- There are no other formal eligibility restrictions, and prior formal research experience is not mandatory.
