Technical Sales Specialist

Product:
Life Science Research Tools & Reagents

Territory:
Cambridgeshire

Package: £35–50K + Uncapped Commission (25% OTE) + Training & Development

A rapidly expanding life science supplier is strengthening its UK commercial team and is searching for a motivated Sales Specialist to take charge of a high‑potential Cambridge territory.

The company provides an extensive catalogue of advanced reagents, biochemicals, and research compounds used throughout biotech, pharma, and academic research. With strong year‑on‑year growth and continued European expansion, this is an ideal opportunity for someone eager to build a successful commercial career in the scientific sector.

The Opportunity:

This is a varied, customer‑focused role combining home‑based work with regular field visits across the region. You’ll be the primary point of contact for research groups, labs, and scientists, helping them access the products and technical insight they need to drive their projects forward.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Developing and growing the territory through proactive outreach and consistent customer engagement

- Representing a broad portfolio of life‑science reagents and providing accurate product guidance

- Managing inbound enquiries across phone, email, and online channels

- Delivering excellent customer care from first contact through to post‑order support

- Collaborating with colleagues in marketing and business development

- Collecting market intelligence and customer feedback to support commercial strategy

- Supporting scientific events, exhibitions, and conferences

- Keeping CRM records up to date and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline

This role suits someone who enjoys variety, likes speaking with scientists, and thrives in a mix of technical discussion and commercial problem‑solving.

About You

You’ll be well‑positioned for success if you bring:

- A degree in life sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related discipline (essential)

- Experience in a customer‑facing or commercial role (highly advantageous)

- Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to simplify technical information

- A proactive, organised approach and the ability to manage your own schedule

- Drive, resilience, and a positive mindset

- Fluent English (written and spoken)

- A natural curiosity and willingness to ask insightful questions

- A full UK driving licence

What You’ll Gain

- Structured onboarding and weekly sales training

- Supportive leadership and a collaborative team environment

- Uncapped commission with rewards for new business wins

- Real progression opportunities within a fast‑growing organisation

- The chance to build a thriving territory and long‑term customer relationships
