Job Overview
The position is a Sales Specialist for DePuy Synthes in Cambridgeshire and Norwich, United Kingdom, focusing on clinical sales to surgeons for medical devices.
Role Purpose- Achieve agreed objectives and sales targets within the annual performance cycle.
- Interact with and promote products to key secondary care customers and stakeholders within the allocated geographic region.
- Take the lead in managing specialty customers and develop comprehensive business plans.
- Focus on high‑value opportunities to grow and develop new business, including taking competitor share and adopting new technologies while maintaining key customers.
- Manage, develop accounts and own the relationship between the company and the customer, ensuring alignment to maximise growth.
- Work with the Regional Sales Manager and colleagues to define commercial requirements and grow and protect the business.
- Share key insights from the external marketplace internally to shape future business plans.
- Maintain competence in procedural focus area and product portfolio and act as an ambassador for Johnson & Johnson.
- Account Planning: Analyse and interpret account strategies, develop, deploy and maintain tactical account plans, prepare plans and presentations for customers.
- Selling: Build strong networks, present brand value propositions and value‑added solutions to influence buying behaviours.
- Teamwork: Collaborate across teams to deliver business plans, respond to requests for support and share information and insights.
- Professional Education & Marketing: Lead customer training activities and partner with Professional Education to maintain KOL relationships.
- Clinical Expertise: Understand technical information relevant to procedures and products, keep up‑to‑date market knowledge.
- Strong selling and negotiating skills.
- Effective planning and excellent communication (written, spoken, presentation).
- Commercial acumen, influencing and business partnering, and ability to analyse requirements and develop adoption strategies.
- Consultative selling and building trust with customers.
- Use of selling tools, continual learning, deep clinical expertise.
- Networking, collaboration, teamwork, drive, tenacity, and a strong winning spirit.
- Information technology skills.
- Understanding of the external secondary care environment.
- Proven track record in selling, ideally within the medical devices sector.
- Degree (desirable).
- ABPI accreditation where appropriate.
- Act as a role model for J&J Credo, demonstrate honesty and ethical behaviour.
- Familiarity with health and safety responsibilities and company policies.
- Adhere to UK Safe Fleet Policy, healthcare compliance policies, product complaint process, and required training.
- Willingness to travel and attend meetings as required.
