Social Worker – Children Looked After Pay rate in line with the pledge – £38.43 Umbrella / £30.50 PAYE Vale of Glamorgan Council We're looking for a qualified Social Worker to join Children's Services in the Vale, based at Gladstone Road, Barry (CF63 1NH
).
About the role:
You'll deliver a consistent, quality service in partnership with children, young people, families and carers — promoting strength-based practice and working closely with partner agencies across the Directorate. Key duties include:
Undertake assessments of need and risk in line with Directorate and national standards Take on planning and reviewing responsibilities to the same standards Manage a caseload consistent with your grade and responsibilities Attend meetings, reviews and court hearings — producing reports and giving evidence verbally and in writing Maintain accurate, up-to-date records both electronically (including WCCIS) and on hard files Prepare reports and information for the Operational or Team Manager as required Make flexible use of available resources to meet service user need within agreed budget parameters Participate fully in professional supervision in line with the Supervision and Workload Management policies Report any safeguarding concerns without delay to the appropriate safeguarding officer Contribute to team planning, performance targets, training and service development Take responsibility for your own continuous professional development You'll work in line with all relevant legislation, guidance, policy, procedures and national standards, and represent the Directorate professionally with all partner agencies at all times.
