A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Software Engineer in Cambridge with a leading engineering organisation developing advanced thermal imaging, night vision, and augmented reality systems. This Software Engineer job in Cambridge offers the chance to work on cutting-edge technology used across defence, security, and industrial sectors worldwide.
The successful Software Engineer in Cambridge will join a growing Production Engineering team focused on transferring products from development into scalable manufacturing. This Software Engineer role in Cambridge will involve developing automation tools, production software, and test systems to support manufacturing, validation, and product configuration activities.
Key responsibilities for the Software Engineer job in Cambridge include:
• Supporting the transfer of products from R&D into manufacturing
• Developing and maintaining automated test software
• Improving manufacturing processes through automation and workflow improvements
• Supporting firmware flashing, software installation, and product configuration
• Troubleshooting software and production issues
• Supporting software version control and production traceability
• Working closely with R&D, Production, Quality, and suppliers
To be considered for this Software Engineer opportunity in Cambridge, you will need:
• A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
• Strong experience with LabVIEW
• Experience developing software tools, automation, or test systems
• Understanding of software release and configuration control
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
Experience with Python, C/C++, embedded systems, manufacturing automation, or ISO
9001 would be advantageous.
