Role Overview
Embedded Software Engineer – Full Lifecycle Development. Develop products from concept through mass production in consumer, medical, life sciences, and defence sectors.
ResponsibilitiesWork across the entire product development lifecycle for clients, collaborating with cross‑functional teams of electronics, software, mechanical, and applied science experts. Translate design requirements into robust embedded software solutions, conduct design reviews, generate technical documentation, and support product launch and field maintenance.
Key Technical Skills- Proven track record of developing and implementing software for embedded systems using modern professional workflows.
- Expert in C/C++/Rust with good experience in Python (additional languages beneficial).
- Experience on embedded platforms including RTOS (Zephyr OS), embedded Linux, bare‑metal, and multi‑core SoCs.
- Practitioner of Test‑Driven Development, automated and manual testing.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of communications protocols: I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi.
- Ability to generate software design documentation.
- Comfortable with device datasheets, digital electronics and schematics.
- Experience in full product lifecycle development from concept to launch and in‑field improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex engineering concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Hands‑on, collaborative problem‑solving.
- Energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to innovate on unfamiliar challenges.
- Commitment to mentoring less experienced engineers.
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or related subject from a leading university.
- Ability to acquire UK SC security clearance (requires sole UK nationality).
- Strong academic background and demonstrated experience supporting long‑term product development.
