Front-End Software Engineer; React​/Typescript

React Wise is a software start-up based in Cambridge, UK, offering powerful no-code software for optimising chemical reactions. Using machine learning algorithms developed by the founders during their PhDs at the University of Cambridge, our software significantly reduces process development time, bringing novel drugs to clinical trials much faster.

Founded in 2024, we now have dozens of pharma clients across the globe, including On Demand Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer
. As an early-stage start-up, we offer the opportunity to build software at the cutting edge of machine learning and chemistry, with short iteration cycles and the autonomy to shape the software development process.

We're looking for a junior/mid-level front-end engineer to join our small, fast-moving team in Cambridge, with hybrid arrangements available. You'll work closely with our founders and engineers to build beautiful, intuitive user interfaces that help scientists run complex experiments more easily.

No knowledge of chemistry is expected.

• Build responsive, user-friendly front-end components using React and Type Script
• Collaborate with engineers and chemists to translate ideas and wireframes into functional UI
• Contribute to design discussions and give input on improving user experience
• Write clean, well-documented code and participate in code review
• Test and debug front-end features across different browsers and screen sizes

• Right to work in the UK (unfortunately, we cannot sponsor visas)
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience building web applications with React and Type Script (through work, projects, or coursework). Please link your Git Hub and/or portfolio on your CV
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, modern JavaScript/Type Script, and collaborative Git workflows
• Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced start-up environment
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team

• Flair and intuition for good UI/UX design, and experience with Figma
• A basic understanding of relational databases
