Assessing Critical Software Defence Systems Targeted by Foreign Adversaries
Are you passionate about discovering, fixing or exploiting software vulnerabilities? Are you a creative and outside‑the‑box problem solver? Do you want to help defend the nation? This might be the job for you!
This defence firm seeks a talented software vulnerability researcher to assess critical systems and develop novel cyber defence techniques. You will develop proof‑of‑concept demonstrators and research the connections between software, hardware, infrastructure and user interactions to identify and understand vulnerabilities. This company’s rapid approach to design and implementation means your work won’t stall at the concept stage.
You will be working full time at their state‑of‑the‑art office and labs located south of Cambridge with on‑site parking. They have a strong culture of openness and teams aren’t siloed away from each other. Instead, you’ll be working alongside engineers and scientists with various specialties providing unique opportunities for learning as well as a formal mentorship programme.
Requirements- Demonstrable experience in vulnerability research.
- Good knowledge of how software and hardware interact at a low‑level (e.g., drivers, firmware, embedded systems).
- Fluent programmer in C, C++ or Python.
- STEM degree from a top university.
- UK nationality, for security reasons.
- Reverse engineering, cyber‑physical systems, networking and network protocols, or virtualisation and containerisation.
