** The Business Planning Lead is responsible for implementing, maintaining and continuously improving a means of providing a forward-looking view of business activity across SPT. This view will then be used to inform business critical activities include procurement planning, strategic workforce planning and network site access & outages.

The Business Planning Lead will be working in conjunction with several multi-disciplined PMO teams and SPT departments to serve as the liaison around visibility needs of business activities. They will support the SPEN business interface with key stakeholders, including the SPT Executive Team and Network Policy & Regulation (NP&R) ensuring proactive visibility of all business activities to support business-wide optimisation.
** What you’ll be doing
** As Business Planning Lead, you will provide a strategic, enterprise-wide view of project delivery across SP Transmission, owning the short-term project pipeline and long-term demand forecast. Working closely with stakeholders across SPT, Network Planning & Regulation and wider functions, you will ensure plans are aligned, accurate and capable of supporting effective business decision-making.

You will lead business planning activities by managing project classification, portfolio allocation and key interface reporting, ensuring stakeholders have clear visibility of upcoming activities, dependencies and delivery milestones. By identifying and escalating risks, challenges and interdependencies, you will help optimise planning across areas such as procurement, contracting, workforce deployment, outages and site access.
** What you’ll bring
*** Prior experience of a business planning or reporting role in a regulatory capacity or other related field.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent in commercial/business subject such as project management.
* Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
* Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to negotiate/influence.
* Expertise in reporting and data analysis, with proficiency across a variety of applications and platforms (e.g. PowerBI, MS Office).
* Ability to review and scrutinise integrated data models developed by analysts to feed into enterprise-wide reporting dashboards and files.
* Ability to work with limited supervision and to interact across all levels of management and executive.
* Ability to design new process and governance, while supporting implementation of these across a business unit.
* Understanding and knowledge of energy markets and the regulatory drivers affecting operation of a Transmission Network.
* Excellent presentation skills, with experience in dealing with directors, senior management and officials from government, regulatory bodies and other market participants.
* Ability to effectively lead teams and work in cross functional teams.
* Exceptionally proactive nature, with the ability to innovate and challenge in recognition and support of the business model in which SPT is operating.
