Retail & Store Manager, Customer Service Rep
Location: Rutherglen
Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.76 an hour; this increases to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but you may also work fewer hours (minimum 12). We support flexibility: if your availability closely matches our advertised windows, we welcome your application.

As a Shift Leader, you'll oversee the store from the shop floor, ensuring operations run smoothly, customers are assisted, and the team collaborates effectively. You'll face interesting challenges every day.
As a Shift Leader you’ll- Work in a fast‑paced retail environment with a wide variety of products.
- Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well‑stocked store that exceeds customer expectations.
- Be there for customers, listening to them and ensuring they leave satisfied.
- Identify ways to improve service, including coaching your colleagues and giving feedback.
- Guide and support colleagues in‑store, ensuring a safe place to work and shop.
- Understand store performance and assist managers in executing actions that improve operations.
- Lead from the front, setting a great example for your colleagues.
- Coordinating the store team to deliver an easy, fuss‑free shopping experience.
- Supporting colleagues, ensuring they deliver daily priorities and take regular breaks.
- Opening and closing the store, completing duty cover, and making safe decisions.
- Acting as the go‑to person for day‑to‑day queries in the absence of the manager.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, well‑presented store.
- Supporting managers with seasonal, community and charity events.
- Contributing to a positive, inclusive team atmosphere.
- Providing great customer service by listening to customers and putting them first.
- Keeping the team informed about communications, changes, or updates.
- Staying knowledgeable about store performance and seeking improvement opportunities.
- Coordinating store improvements and removing obstacles to great service.
- Following health and safety routines and ensuring colleagues do the same.
- Recognising and celebrating colleagues who deliver excellent service.
- To be a great role model, consistently delivering thoughtful customer service.
