We are looking for a Private Office Administrator to work within the Private Office team that provides executive support to ORR's Chair, Chief Executive and non-executive board members. It also carries out all the arrangements and high-level support required to run board meetings and committees, and director level meetings and events.
As part of a team of five, this is an excellent opportunity to work at the heart of the strategic decision-making and governance of ORR, supporting our work to protect the interests of current and future rail and road users and promote value for money for taxpayers. At ORR, our hybrid working means that we currently work from our workplace location a minimum of 40% of our working week, although requirements to attend other offsite locations for official business also count towards this level of attendance.

You will need good oral and written communication skills and must be confident engaging with people at the highest levels. It is also important that you can listen well and raise issues or concerns if needed. Reflecting the seniority of those we support, good attention to detail and a conscientious approach is essential.
We are looking for someone who enjoys being busy, is curious and keen to learn and takes pride in doing a good job. You will learn, grow and thrive in this role if you lean-in to understand why we do things and engage with the content, and use your initiative.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop valuable skills and experience and provides the scope to develop a career path within the public sector, with a good grounding for management or more senior support roles in the future.
A good level of competence in using IT packages - including Microsoft Word and Excel, and capability to pick up any in-house systems with training.
Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check. People working with government assets must complete baseline personnel security standard checks.
