An excellent opportunity has arisen for a locum consultant in Gynaecology to join us at the Royal Free Hospitals NHS Trust to address the increasing general gynaecology and cancer workload across all our sites for a 6 month fixed term starting from 1st April 2026.The candidate is expected to have a broad range of skills in gynaecology but this post is looking specifically for candidates with a particular special interest in gynaecology oncology.

The successful candidate is expected to provide cover for labour ward, rapid access clinic and general gynae operating.

• Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values
• MBBS
• MRCOG
• CCT/CCST or equivalent
• Entry onto the Specialist Register of the GMC (or eligibility for entry within 6mths of AAC)
• Hold Full Registration with GMC
• MSc/MD/PhD
• International presentations

• ATSM or equivalent in Advanced Labour Ward Practice
• Experience working/running labour ward and antenatal clinics
• ATSM or equivalent in benign gynaecological surgery - hysteroscopy

• Experience and commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
• Ability to make decisions at Consultant level and to contribute to management of high risk patients

• Fluent in written and spoken English with excellent interpersonal skills
• Enthusiasm and ability to remain calm and work well under pressure
• Effective communication and organisational skills

• Demonstrable knowledge of the challenges facing the service
• Experience in benign open surgery
• - Extensive demonstrable clinical training and experience in intrapartum care
• Experienced consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist

• Member of Medical Defence organisation
• Evidence of commitment to audit (inc. presentation skills and good knowledge of evidence based practice)
• Evidence of commitment to service quality improvement

£109,725 to £145,478 a year

Per annum plus £2,162 London Weighting pro rata
