Main duties of the jobAn excellent opportunity has arisen for a locum Consultant in Obstetrics at the Hampstead site of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust for a fixed term 6 months.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced colleague to join our obstetric services. The successful candidate is expected to provide cover for labour ward, rapid access clinic and general gynae operating The teaching and training of junior medical staff and is also expected to be a key part of the role.

Person Specification Education/Professional Qualifications- MBBS
- MRCOG
- CCT/CCST or equivalent
- Entry onto the Specialist Register of the GMC (or eligibility for entry within 6mths of AAC)
- Hold Full Registration with GMC
- Research publications in peer reviewed journals or book chapter publications or an MD
- ATSM or equivalent in Advanced Labour Ward Practice
- Experience working/running labour ward and antenatal clinics
- Demonstrable knowledge of the challenges facing the service
- Experience in benign open surgery
- Experienced consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist
- Extensive demonstrable clinical training and experience in intrapartum care.
- Experience and commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
- Ability to make decisions at Consultant level and to contribute to management of high risk patients
- - Fluent in written and spoken English with excellent interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm and ability to remain calm and work well under pressure
- - Effective communication and organisational skills
- Member of Medical Defence organisation
- Evidence of commitment to audit (inc. presentation skills and good knowledge of evidence based practice)
- Evidence of commitment to service quality improvement

£109,725 to £145,478 a yearper annum plus £2,162 London Weighting pro rata
