About the Role

A well established secondary school in Camden is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join its team on a long term basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity to support students in achieving their full potential while working alongside experienced teachers in a welcoming and inclusive school. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting learning, promoting positive behaviour and helping to create an engaging classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Support teachers in delivering high quality lessons.

* Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning.

* Provide additional support for students with SEND where required.

* Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials.

* Encourage positive behaviour and student engagement.

* Help monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

* Support students' academic, social and emotional development.

* Contribute to a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.

Person Specification

Essential

* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role within a school.

* Experience supporting children or young people in an educational setting.

* A positive, patient and supportive approach.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

* A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential.

* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Desirable

* Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

* Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

* First Aid qualification.

* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures within schools.
