Do you have the skills and confidence to deliver personalised one-to-one learning for pupils with SEND?

Teacher Active is currently seeking dedicated SEN Tutors to provide one-to-one, in-person tuition for learners across London. Sessions take place either in the learner's home or within a suitable community venue, delivering personalised education to children and young people who are temporarily out of mainstream education. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with competitive hourly rates of £20 - £30 per hour.

As an SEN Tutor you will deliver engaging one-to-one lessons tailored to each learner's individual needs and interests. You will teach KS1-KS3 Maths and English, with the opportunity to deliver additional subjects based on your expertise. Alongside academic support, you will help learners develop confidence, life skills and independence while encouraging positive engagement with education. Every learning programme is personalised, allowing you to use creative teaching approaches that inspire progress and build meaningful relationships.

Working closely with Teacher Active's education team, you will follow structured timetables while adapting sessions to suit each learner's needs. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, resilient and committed to supporting children and young people with SEND, including autism, ADHD and SEMH, to achieve their full potential.

The successful SEN Tutor will have:

A minimum of 2 years' experience teaching or mentoring children and young people with SEND, including ASD/ASC, ADHD and SEMH
Experience delivering one-to-one learning within SEND schools, alternative provisions, youth settings or private tuition
A creative and flexible teaching approach that encourages learner engagement
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and a commitment to providing high-quality support
An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Teacher Active
The ability to travel to learners across Southeast London
