Job Description & How to Apply Below
Are you an experienced rail Control Systems or Signalling Engineer looking to work on the development of the CCS systems for HS2?
Do you have the technical judgement to look beyond standards and compliance and understand how control systems need to operate as part of the wider railway?
Salary:
London £71,122 to £83,672 / Birmingham £65,854 to £77,474, inclusive of 20% flexible allowance
Location:
London or Birmingham, hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office
Closing date: 28th September
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior CCS Engineer to join the team supporting the development of Control, Command and Signalling systems.
The team has particular interest in candidates who can bring additional rail control systems experience and complement the existing technical capability in signalling.
Working predominantly across concept design and early scheme activities, you will help develop and challenge technical requirements while considering how control, signalling and traffic management systems interact with the wider railway.
Essential requirements
Strong professional experience within rail signalling, control systems or CCS engineering.
Good understanding of railway control systems and their relationship with signalling and wider railway operations.
Experience working on the development, design or technical assurance of modern railway systems.
Experience operating within multidisciplinary rail engineering environments.
Strong understanding of systems interfaces and integration.
Ability to review and challenge technical requirements and proposed solutions.
Ability to understand the purpose and wider implications of technical standards rather than simply applying them.
Strong technical stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with engineering specialists, suppliers and project delivery teams.
Nice to have
Strong railway control systems experience.
London Underground or TfL signalling/control systems experience.
Experience of CBTC or other modern railway control technologies.
Experience working on major UK rail programmes.
Client-side Technical Authority or engineering assurance experience.
Experience working with major rail systems suppliers.
The priority is broader CCS competence, with control systems experience particularly valuable given the existing signalling expertise within the team.
This is an opportunity to work at the conceptual end of one of the UK's most technically ambitious railway programmes, helping shape solutions before they progress into detailed design and delivery.
If you are an experienced CCS, Control Systems or Signalling Engineer looking to take on HS2, please get in touch to discuss the opportunity ()
