This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the radiotherapy team at The Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead site
. We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and highly motivated band 5 therapeutic radiographer to join us at one of the largest and leading providers of cancer care in the UK.
Patients are at the heart of what we do so we are looking for therapeutic radiographers who can provide excellent care with compassion and respect. All radiographers in bands 5 - 7 roles have the opportunity to rotate through pre-treatment and treatment.
The Royal Free Radiotherapy Department has 2 Varian True Beams with Aria. There is an orthovoltage unit, a Toshiba CT-scanner, Pinnacle TPS, VMAT, IGRT, SA and respiratory gated/ motion managed radiotherapy. The department is accredited to ISO 9001:2015.
The successful applicant will be expected to start in post as soon as employment checks are completed and their notice period is served.
Main duties of the jobTo plan and treat patients undergoing radiotherapy treatment for their disease, which includes cancer and terminal illnesses.
To provide a safe, accurate and an efficient radiotherapy service, carrying out radiotherapy procedures on all treatment and CT scanner units according to protocol and under the supervision of a senior/superintendent radiographer.
To supervise students after an induction period.
The post holder must be qualified to practice as an operator within Radiotherapy as defined by IR(ME)
R.

Person Specification Royal Free World Class Values- Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values
- BSc in Radiotherapy or DCR(T)- Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent (or completing training for qualification)
- Must be registered with the HCPC
- Student training
- Demonstrate knowledge of a range of treatment techniques
- Demonstrate good standards of patient care and assessment
- Demonstrate good levels of coordination to ensure precise patient set-ups.
- Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team
- Demonstrate ability to cope with moving & handling of patients & equipment after training.
- Willingness to work flexibility to meet service needs
