Senior Nurse - Care Home

About the Role

As a Senior Nurse (General) at a Barchester care home, you will use your leadership skills to ensure residents receive the quality care we are known for. You will be a hands‑on clinical leader creating a safe and supportive environment for residents with a range of mental and physical needs. Your professional judgement will guide critical clinical decisions, from assessing a new resident to implementing safeguarding policies and administering medicines in line with NMC regulations.

You will support and mentor your team, ensuring they receive the training needed to deliver the highest standards of nursing. As a Senior Nurse (General), you will enjoy the freedom and autonomy to do things the right way and be truly valued and respected for what you do.

To join us you need to be a Registered Nurse (RGN) with a current NMC registration and a mentoring or supervision qualification. Experience in producing care plans and detailed risk assessments is important, as is up‑to‑date knowledge of the latest clinical practices. You should understand regulatory frameworks, including DoL/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical Society guidelines. You are a natural leader and problem solver who has worked with older people and acted as a clinical mentor, supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship.
