Theatre Practitioner - Scrub and Anaesthetics; Bank

A bank Theatre Practitioner post in scrub and anaesthetics at Nuffield Health's Exeter Hospital, beside the RD&E hospital, worked ad hoc as shifts are needed. The work centres on supporting consultants and anaesthetists during procedures, giving anaesthetics, monitoring vital signs and keeping the sterile field, while supervising junior staff. The hospital's theatres cover elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology and robotic joint replacement, and the role carries no set weekly hours.

Fit depends on registration as a Theatre Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner and post-registration major orthopaedic scrub experience.

• Support consultants and anaesthetists during procedures
• Give anaesthetics safely and monitor vital signs throughout surgery
• Maintain a sterile operating environment and follow all safety protocols
• Supervise, support and develop junior staff

• Qualifications relevant to theatre registration

• Registration as a Theatre Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC)
