Counselor's Secretary​/Paraprofessional

Job Description

Responsible for assisting with all duties and/or functions related to school operations on a daily basis.

• Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic to represent the school district in a positive manner at all times.
• Maintian a record of fixed assets and mark each item appropriately.
• Enter all requisitions for building and follow up with appropriate paperwork.
• Process lunch applications and verify.
• Inform the Food Service Director and Cafeteria manager of students entering and leaving the district.
• Maintian monthly records for staff absentee reports.
• Record teacher and instructional assistant absences as well as substitute teacher workdays.
• Answer the telephone in an efficient manner.
• Maintain reports for fire and tornado drills.
• Responsible for funds, equipment and/or property.
• Maintain shelves to insure that books are in their proper place according to category and level.
• Assist students in finding books appropriate for their reading level.
• Assist teachers in finding books related to a specific topic of study or project.
• Help maintain media room materials, i.e. videos, read-along books with tapes, etc.
• Assist in year-end inventory.
• Substitute as necessary.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
